JLPT N1 vocabulary list
The final test N1: literary, technical, and low-frequency vocabulary. A lot of this stuff is words you will only encounter in print, but you need to know it to pass the test.

N1 is the largest level by a wide margin, and its vocabulary is defined less by difficulty than by rarity. These are words that are entirely ordinary to an educated native reader and that a learner may go months without encountering.
Because the frequency is low, it makes sense to study N1 words in context. Read a book, watch a show, or listen to a podcast and note the words you don't know. Then look them up and add them to your study list.
What passing looks like: You can read essays and fiction for pleasure, and follow abstract or specialized argument without support.
